12.19.08 ILLEST of 2008
12.10.08 Two beers deep
Here's what I think about almost every single day (but, really, night):
Maybe you should buy a black suit, you'll need it eventually, one way or another. And in your mind, you'd look good in one, but you know the mirror would show something else. And how many more meals like that can you eat before your body says "no more?" And the bank sends you a note on cardstock stating that you've overdrafted (again) but there's no real mail to be found, not from anyone you'd care to receive from. And you wonder what you'll look like when you get older because right now, in your mind, it's impossible to be any older. But, still, you wonder. And some days the drive to work feels like you're carrying the cross up to Golgotha. And sometimes work is just a job, even when it feels like more. And then there is The Wire. There is always The Wire.

11.6.08 ILLWILLCAST 004 Posted/Brave New World
After way too much time, I've finally finished ILLWILLCAST 004. This one's called "Orphans." It's posted here. The next one is coming in the next few weeks (fingers crossed) so with any luck, those of you who actually download these things, will have plenty of new jams to, er, jam. Also, how about that election? I firmly believe that there has always been a reason to be proud of America, and I think, finally, it's been on display in the last days, weeks and months. I have to say the whole thing was inspiring and I was moved by both Obama's success and strangely Johnn McCain's concession speech. I think we could have used a little more of that John McCain all along. At any rate, WOW. God bless us, every one.
CURRENT JAM: Nada Surf- High/Low
10.8.08 Mares eat oats and does eat oats...
Figured out that whole "Black Unicorn" thing. For the most part, anyway. I actually got giddy about it on the way home. It'll be metatextual as F. Also, ILLWILLCAST 004 is coming. I promise. Just trying to track down a couple of things...
CURRENT JAM: DJ Shadow- In Tune and On Time
9.24.08 ". . ."
What if, upon a sleepy time,
A sharp itch fell upon my arm
And I could not find another hand
To scratch away the nag?
Surely, there must be greater sweats to pour,
but on my eyes, pushing away to rest
I know of nothing, not one.
9.17.08 Plot-O-Matic: Black Unicorn
What the hell is this thing about, will you please tell me? Someone gimme a plot, please. Seriously.
CURRENT JAM: TV On The Radio- "Golden Age"
9.13.08 My fascination with signage continues unabated.

I have no idea what to say about this other than I like it.
CURRENT JAM: U2- Rattle and Hum
9.11.08 I can't see anything at all. All I see is me.
On the way home from work tonight, I spontanaeously burst out into a Bob Dylan voice while singing along to "Eric's Trip." It sounded weirdly appropriate. And, while we're on the topic of Daydream Nation, how awesome is Thurston Moore's "Kick it!" on "Hey Joni?" Anyway, between moving house and the recent bout of insanity at the office, it's been a wild couple of weeks. Anyway, there was a point to this post, but I've long since lost it. I'm accepting new design and art commissions. I've been wanting to get back into album packaging again. Get at me if interested. Also: I updated my address on the about page, so, ya know, if you want it, it's there. Also: Happy Birthday, Brian Jones.
CURRENT DVD JAM: Friends Season 10 (yeah, I know)

CURRENT TV JAM: Mad Men Season 1
7.4.08 No Fireworks
I'm a neglectful partner, I know. July 4th, 2008 and I am sitting in an air conditioned office, alone and with the lights off, doing almost nothing. It sounds almost ideal, in a way; a version of the American dream (relative comfort, miniminal toiling, a paycheck) and yet all it really breeds is a formless ennui and listlessness. I have a sensation that things are awful everywhere (which, I suppose, is arguably another form of the American dream). I'm behind on ILLWILLCASTS (but #003 is up and awesome) so I will get to work on that. Nearing completion on the CANNIBALS chapbook, just having an issue with PDF print settings and then hopefully it will be ready to go. Other stuff is in the works, too (like always).
CURRENT JAM: Lil Wayne- "A Milli"
5.7.08 Sawdust already
You may notice some slight changes in the left hand column. I think this will help and make the pages less rendudant, don't you? Yes, I thought you'd agree. Also, working on an RSS feed for this page although I'm kind of stumbling with it. Any assistance would be appreciated.
CURRENT OBSESSION: New episodes of This American Life
4.30.08 From the halls of Currier to the Pentacrest auditoriums
ILLWILLCAST 002 is now posted for you to download and enjoy. This very special mix features the music that I listened to on either A) a homebuilt crappy PC nicknamed 'The Dinosaur' or B) a navy blue Sony Walkman during my freshman year of college. Most of it still holds up, too. Special thanks to Mase, TPC and Matt Davis.
4.28.08 So much going on and almost nothing happening...
1. Kick this nasty cold's figurative ass.
2. Brain is half-cooking up, like, 50 ideas a day. Most of them "just OK." Emphasize precision over abundance.
3. Must ride bike.
4. MUST ride bike.
5. Continue writing Great American Novel.
6. Spend every weekend amongst beloved people, eating good Mexican food, drinking cheap beer and maintaining the charm and sophistication that has become my bread-and-butter.
7. Mend fences.
8. Read all those damn books I bought.
9. Use that damn sketchbook.
10. Finish Mixcast 002

4.13.08 The grip, the bit, the tricks, the treats
Site is up and running. Thanks for stopping by. "The goods" are located in various spots around the site, particularly the 'WORK' (writing/art/etc) and 'OTHER' (Mixcasts and other unclassifiable stuff) pages. On the creative front, I recently began work on a new short story (it's going to be weird). New t-shirt designs will be completed once Grant buys me a new scanner (yeah, I called you out, Grant, WHAT!). Lots of other good stuff just around the corner (maybe even in time for you to break out that Economic Stimulus Package $$$. You know, help stimulate your local economy). I welcome your feedback, as I'm still not entirely sure what this site needs more/less of. I am also seeking a proper webmaster to help with the occasional coding project and a proper webhost. If you can help, please let me know via any of the channels to the left.
